Select an existing component input file. Default file is C:\BEARTEX\DEMO.CPT (Change File). Alternatively you may create your own component file (Create File). A different window will open on which you can choose a file name, title and additional information.
Next is a table of components specified by three Euler angles, a weight and individual bell width.
Once you have your component file (either old or new) the main menu lets you choose crystal and sample symmetry and lattice parameters. These may already be provided with an existing CPT file.
Now you can select pole figures which you wish to calculate. Provide hkl. Reduced pole figures (0) are centrosymmetric (like measured pole figures from scattering experiments), unreduced (1) are non-centric (Matthies et al. 1988). You can overlap different hkl's, then provide the number of overlaps and their volume fraction. The volume fractions, including FON must add up to 1.0.
Exemples:
Roe/Matthies convention: theoretical pole figures.
{001} pole figure of HgI2 with 6x2 model Gauss component of 5 degree half-width.
Several pole figures of HgI2 for different single orientation component.
Comments and suggestions are very welcome
